Many, many years ago, my bank pestered me to change my free personal account to one with a monthly fee, but which would give me in return, travel insurance, breakdown cover, etc.

Eventually, I gave in, and switched. Only when I needed the vehicle assistance did I find out that commercial vehicles were excluded. Grrr. 🤬

HSBC. Can't help feeling that I should have a claim against them for mis-selling, but have never spoken to anyone who says it's their department. Funny that. 🤔

I assume it’s more than six years ago so they’ve got away with it but for future reference there’s a lovely bit of law for this. Claim their representation induced you to contract with them. Misrepresention Act 1980, s 2 shifts the burden to them to prove they didn’t diddle you, rather than the normal position where you have to prove they did. They’d probably cave rather than have the uphill fight. Nice little legal quirk.

I did the same Dan, then they tried to charge me extra when my Transit needed recovering, even though they’d bloody bought it for me!

It took a big row with them to get it sorted.

Not encouraging. Hmm.

I've just been looking on Landrover forums, Brittania and GEM seem to get good write-ups and seem to have options for trailer cover, and personal cover so any vehicle you're in. Need to check those details on commercial use I guess.

Well if you to find a forum that would have the highest representation of broken down motors needing recovery then a LR forum would be the one! Jokes I am sure they are not as bad as people make out.
