I already have an Echo 2511 climbing saw. I like the idea of a spare clone for any abuse work but the ones on ebay at £200 are too much.

I have bought from Farmertec before, and see they have added a clone G2511, works out £92 delivered.

£40 for a top handle saw if we put shipping aside! Im not expecting much tbh but you neve know so some comparison feedback would be good.

Ive seen plenty of clone saws that OK will do a job but they are utter garbage when compared to a proper machine.

I once bought a farmer tec 066 clone kit to have a spare milling saw  … shit plastics ,bearings and seals ,the chain break was barely functioning due to the crap plastics and bad casting ; after buying oem bearings and seals you could of bought a second hand saw… would not touch another.

what kind of abuse work is worth a whole chainsaw not just the chain?

Fair enough, I had better experiences with my 372 clone, I prefer only buying second hand if its someone I know. Lots of stolen kit floating around that I dont want to touch. If I see something on ebay, I ask for purchase history/invoice and rarely get a reply.

Anyway, what have you bought?

I got one of these bags last week, it is perfect size for carrying the cordless batteries and keeps them seperate from my files and saw tools.

Bought a used MS261CM from the Bay of E.

Chain catcher was mangled as was the inner side cover, it was obvious the chain had come off at one point, possibly more.

The bar was lipped and blued at the back but OK overall.

Lots of compression and it starts and runs well.

New bar, 2 chains and some bits from L&S and i've a good wee saw for ripping rounds into cheese triangles making it easier to move and hump onto the log splitter.

£430 in all, lot better than £800 +vat for a new one.
