It drives me crazy when I cannot get hold of someone on site when there is no coms and they have an earpiece in listening to a podcast etc.

on my jobs I tell them it is a no no.

"Anders. Stop. I am about to give you a work instruction.

...

The work instruction is to use all of your senses at all times to sense what is happening on this site. This is to ensure productivity and safety."

If they want to listen to Christina Aguilera after that, **************** em. Don't pay em. They'll soon learn.

If not already obvious, I am aggressively unfunny about this. You come to work to work. If you want to amble around my site, purposefully oblivious to instructions that either make me money or keep people safe (which preserves my money), you're basically an industrial saboteur and should be buried in a dam foundation.

Farming Today and the news on Radio 4, then Absolute Rock Radio on the DAB. But on quietly in the background.  Agree with previous comments ref buds etc, sites too risky for that!

If I'm cooking, I'll ask the Google thing to play something then let it choose! Even enjoy some classical stuff at times! Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings or Agnes Dei started the last couple of times, then had a stint at Rod Argent's God Gave Rock and Roll to you!

Drop the Dead Donkey was great. Still haven't watched the reboot. I make the, "I'm not here." reference every time I'm hovering over someone about to do make a mistake that's theirs to make.
