Rigging alternatives

Realised after I said it that it would add way more and lose the slickness on the up because one is going to feed into the other from the side, not underneath.

It's just a very neat trick with one. Not a big system thing.

There's the option for incorporating it into a span rig system which would mean you could lower a good amount more without the need for any additional friction.

For example let's say the beckett trick means you can lower 2 times what you normally could without additional friction, in a span rig configuration you'd be looking at 4 times your weight.

Yep, I can see that. Can't visualise how well one would work on the piece as a double whip. Suspect that's complicating it too much again.

Great tip Joe.

That’s a really poor anchor point choice though.

It could easily slip off that vice handle.

Don't presume to lecture me on the laws of physics. My great great grandaddy discovered Gravity.

I won't take advice from someone who sounds like they could start a T. Rex tribute band.

Do you have to get your line angles right with that becket tip to avoid rope on rope?

On the context of the LOLER scenario in the pics it was fine.

In reality it depends on how the pinto is attached to the tree, but as long as there's a bit of slack between the rigging point and the pinto, it self orientates itself under load.

It's worth noting that whilst the beckett of the pinto is rated, it wasn't specifically designed to be configured in that manner. Make of that what you will.
