Loving the avatar mate; any bigger pics you can put up? Just ogling the piston crowns with flame front markings - any close ups?

Something like that....thats what it looked like before it was cleaned and a new head gasket fitted last night, which stopped the steam engine effect from the exhaust, but not the fuel starvation problem...That was solved with a new lift pump today (£35 no worries) and when i looked inside the old one there was about an eggcup ful of sawdust and dirt on the filter, and the operating rod had sheared off somewhere...oops. With fresh oil too, and its now running better than it has for about 12 months.

Actually that is a very healthy picture other than clinder one (at the right hand end) which is shiwing signs of uneven injector spray- dirty injector possibly.
