Those that use the Rope Runner, what ropes you using?

Currently using Cousin Trestec Black Widow 12.2mm but can’t get it dialed in.  It’s either too stiff to release or just slips under load.

Got Tachyon 11.5mm to try but might need to change my ropes to something tried and tested.

Thanks

I like the TEUFELBERGER Xstatic 11.7, great rope for srt as its low stretch.  Lasts well with foot ascender's and doesn’t flatten with using a rope runner. Down side is it can’t be spliced.

I'm still on Yale hedera getting gradually shorter, that's 11.7 and seems ok to me. Apparently same rope as blue moon just different colour.

I've bought a courant rope to use next as well recommended, can't remember the name now.

The RR needs a stiff rope in my opinion. Black widow is great but won't work well worth the Runner. Your tachyon will be better as it's got a secondary inner core designed to keep it firm.

I'm running courant squir with mine. Best rope I've round so far. Super static too, and cheap.

Run it on:

Liros Reef

Courant Komora

Yale Poison Ivy

Only adjusted the bollard when it slips

Had no issues switching but I am only 65kg wet, which can factor.

Yale has deformed a lot with use and is a soft, bouncy rope.

I am tempted by the Squire, mainly because of how cheap it is.

A friend has been running Marlow Vega with a ZZ which claims the lowest elongation on the market... Would be interested to try it with that (I like splices)

But I would probably agree with the Squire vote

Courant Kalimba for me. Love that rope, I know numerous people  that use the same. Elongation is 1.8 which is pretty good. I believe the squire is 1.5 and classed as access line, but still great to climb on

Kalimba - that's the one I bought on recommendation here.

Could well of been me with the recommendation, I've been banging on about it for ages. Absolutely love it
