A fencer I know gifted me a brand new Husqvarna H25 chain because he’d bought the wrong size for his bar.

It’s .325 15”, but is 1.5mm gauge rather than the 1.3mm gauge on the X-Cut I’ve been running on my 550.

I’ve fitted it temporarily, and it seems to run smoothly on my fairly well worn X-Force bar.

Is it compatible, or will the extra 0.2mm cause problems when the chain heats up?

Bought a 345 off someone a few years ago, he accidentally (or maybe on purpose... who knows?) put a new 1.5 chain on a nearly new 1.3 bar, they did not work happily together. Had to swap it out straight away.

Couldn't comment on how much wear and tear they'd need before they match, but I wasn't bothered about finding out.

I think I've heard of people running 3/8 058 on worn 050 bars before, as 050 are more common in the states.

If it's running free then there's no excess friction to cause heating, I'd run it and see how it goes.
