Land rovers to be limited?

Land rovers could be forced to slow down on motorways if government proposals are brought in.

Models with more than eight seats could be limited to 65mph on motorways, while those with a gross weight of 3.5 tonnes or more-130-inch Defenders, say- may be restricted to 60 mph on motorways.

Currently, the limit is 70mph in both cases.

if its a commercial vehicle it was my understanding you should be sticking to 60 anyway on motorways?

I have read that and cannot se anythng that would apply to a landy.....Those bearded freaks who write those magazines are probably getting blinded by the disco lights as usual...The changes apply to HGV, which means anything OVER 3.5 tonne GVW.

there is something in one of the comercial vehicles magazines that all comercial vehicles over 3.2 tonne will be limeted and sugestion of digital tachographs to be fitted however it will not be backdated to older vehicles

sure i remeber reading a few years back about lower speed limits for car derived vans and pick-ups, cant find it now tho

yea my landy only did 55 ,and my iveco 3500 tipper screams at 70

:confused1:I can load mine up with well over a ton and pull the vermeer at 70 other than on the hills..they're not THAT slow...:001_rolleyes:And im running 285 BFG muds, and have a rofrack, standard 300tdi.
