We're currently £210 for 1.8 loose tipped in mid Wales (up to 20 miles) but that is drier and I think we'll have another increase for this winter with cordwood prices.

I've been quoted £180 delivered for 2m3 of semi seasoned unprocessed coppice poles. Doesn't sound too bad to me, though usually I find my own wood and process it myself. Also finding it hard to visualise what 2M3 of coppice poles would actually look like on my drive. Don't think i'm very good at estimating volume.

It depends on length, straight 6' lengths will be about 30% air space but the spindlier  they are the less wood. Longer poles more air space. Also sweet chestnut is very light compared with big hazel, oak or beech coppice. Processing small diameter poles that don't need splitting is slow.

Thanks OSM

I use a Truncator for processing small stuff in bulk, holds say 8 or 10 x 10cm poles at a time. Make 4 or 5 cuts through the lot, and pour the logs from the individual cups into a wheelbarrow, then stack. Sometimes I even stripe the poles if I'm not going to split them. Luxury!
