Holder or AGT?

Shame as I got one going for a friend to use on a job which didn't come off.

Yes, if you inadvertently turn forward down hill the centre of gravity moves downhill too and as there is more weight at the front it moves forward too, so the back uphill wheel loses weight. In the worst case the CoG moves downhill of the line between the front and back wheels and can turn over. In practice i is not a problem because you can normally avoid such a turn with a bit of shunting. The only time I had a near accident was when I had a load behind that pushed the back round .

Yep, rolled an articulated dumper going downhill then turning across hillside.  Steering brings the uphill side wheels closer together and widens the gap on the downhill side. The skipfull of earth moves centre of G. down outside the wheelbase and over she goes.

Terrific traction, and good self recovery when stuck, but not without their own particular set of risks.

If you can get spares then holder , but like you I’ve seen numerous posts on here and Facebook with folk unable to source clutches.
I like my agt with wide wheels but the clearance isn’t great for working in the woods , especially if some one else has left numerous 1ft high stumps for you to find and get hung up on.. easy to get parts for and work on though.

Agree with Matty here. I love my AGT850 but it most certainly is a low slung machine. The low stump police definitely need to be out when your using it in the woods!

Interesting that a Holder A50 according to its test data has similar ground clearance of 25 cm or so

They always seemed higher to me when I’ve seen them but then that could be the wheel and tyre choice ?

I have had a Holder A55 for 8 years and it works a lot in the woods. I absolutely love it, I rebuilt the engine last year and the parts were quite dear, but if you look after it, it will last you many years. I have mine completely stripped down getting ready to paint it. They are built like a tank, very simple and very robust.
