Bandit 2250 exhaust glowing

Evening all,

 

The exhaust on my bandit grinder has started getting really hot to glowing!

 

had it fully serviced, drained fuel tank and had it compression tested and all good.

 

any ideas?

Valve clearances ( exhaust ) need doing .

Are the internal baffles buggered causing back pressure?.

Exhaust valves were my first thought. Did they do them as part of the service?

Heat is building up rather than escaping so that would make me think that the exhaust is a bit clogged up. Bear in mind I don't know much about chippers.

Spud’s answer now seems better than mine and stubby’s. Try it straight piped and see if you get the same thing.

Which Bandit, so is it a petrol or diesel engine? I've got stuck in the back of my head that high exhaust temperature can be an indicator of lean running, if it's petrol, so I'd pop the plugs out and see what they tell you now.

 

If you had it serviced they might have put new ones in anyway but I think you'll quickly see evidence if they are overheating.
