If you can afford it Just use Red Line Racing 2T oil . Its the best you can get ( IMHO ) . I use it mixed with an alkylate fuel at 50:1 .

same here good oil  stubby   Last year opie oils who distribute

redline recommended Comma fully synthetic racing 2-stroke oil

which Is very similar in make up as the redline and it’s red

and smells good

I use it all the time and sell the odd bottle too a few customers

Stihl Super or Ultra? They're both green but Ultra is supposedly better.

I went through 5L of the Super and it lubes alright but smells bad and is rather smoky.

Personally at home I use the Super HP.....this is fully synthetic as apposed to the basic green which is a semi synthetic. The HP is supposed to offer higher protection at the more extreme end of usage....plus it has an inhibitor added to prevent the quick deterioration of the crap unleaded fuel we now have.

Like i say, i use it personally at home as opposed to the standard green Stihl oil because it doesnt cost me a lot, and a litre of it for use in my garden will last me a couple of years.

Strangely my nearest Stihl dealer has stopped stocking the Ultra.

I have been given a bottle of Castrol power1, it is rated jaso FD so should be good enough. It is also red which I find far easier to see when pouring mix than the green/blue, it is a reassurance that I have the right stuff when filling. Generally I keep mix in red containers and neat in green but mistakes happen.

Do you find it smells a bit like frying bacon? First time I ran it I legitimately thought someone was having a fry up.

No , not noticed that . Had a 357xp that I ran on bean oil for a while ( castor bean )  but you needed to strip it and clean it every so often . That smelt good . Bit like Castrol R 40 .
