BOOM! Tad early but have a good day Y'all. Christening Harry Joseph Champion today and the after do is in the pub! Epic!

Sobering thought, I wanted to write a beer IOU in the card, but I will be 78 and probably in the ground by then!

Morning all.

Not feeling the joy this morning, spent yesterday helping someone reduce a horrible beech hedge by 7m in height. I keep thinking "no" to these things but still hear myself saying "yes".

Not just a numpty but a sore one!

Bit pissed with the vet at the moment as well. Wee Poppes has had trouble breathing, sneezing blood, not eating and signs of infection. First vet appointment we were told what we knew already, could be nasal polyps or fistula from dental infection. Try antibiotics. Week later with no change it's try running bloods. Result of that was the vet awkwardly delivering the news that she shows markers for cancer. Not surprising is it, given that they diagnosed and operated on her for a malignant tumor 18 months ago and they've been prescribing meds to manage it ever since! She then suggested a blocked anal gland, I had to explain again that it was unlikely as they had removed them several years ago. So we'll try a steroid injection and see what happens.

£300 to regurgitate what's already on her record as fact leaves me with no confidence at all in this woman!

Rant over, very cathartic.

Have a good one folks.

The vet I took the old cat to was very good, seeing how upset I was, she was great. Did the job on the cat but as she said, "we could spend a grand and got him to last a few more months, but to what end?" Sad that some would have lengthened the process in the name of humanity but she euthanised him with animal welfare in mind. Years back, a vet told me that they give a lot of time and money with farmers and other animal owners who cannot or even will not pay their bill, out of love for animals. He said "if you want to give him compensation for that horse, give it to me and I'll give a bit to each of those he owes too!"
