Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

Im looking to replace my log splitters with something a bit faster

would just like your recommendations please, needs to be durable pro use all winter,I have tractors to run off or would really like a tow behind mobile petrol or diesel job.

will need to be 2 and 4 way splitting and a good cycle time is also important . I fancy the Easymade but not sure they are avaliable in the uk

Just cant find anything that takes my fancy.   Cheers

If you can find a proarc splitter they are good, robust machines, no longer being made and don't know if they were ever available in the uk but my first one did 10 years of personal and hire work and never gave any bother. I did swap out the engine after about 7 or 8 years as it was getting tired but that's to be expected.

Horizontal type though, so maybe not what you're looking for..

Not aware of an American Easternmade dealership in UK. The more powerful/faster professional towable horizontal splitters (26-31T splitting power) with 2-4 & 6 six way knives that lift logs onto tables like Eastermade splitters here in UK won't have petrol or diesel engines like Eastermade, they will work off the tractor, there are however vertical road tow splitter that have petrol and diesel engines but these tend to come with single splitting knives and are not as powerful but some have 13-17T splitting power and more and some are relatively fast. It's important to have good dealership backup like with Fuelwood Warwick which are based in Warwick which also have dealers in North & South Scotland, NE England and SE England. Have a look at the range of AMR (French) splitters which Fuelwood Warwick stock, there's also Posch (Austrian) and Krpan splitters which Jas P Wilson are dealers for (Dumfries) but AMR will be cheaper and backup has been better with Fuelwood Warwick in the past in my experience although Posch and Krpan do make good professional splitters. Both Fuelwood Warwick and Jas P Wilson have open days from time to  time and will arrange demos at other times if given notice.

I've had an AMR road tow 12 petrol splitter for about 5 years now , split 200-300 cube a year through it, I've had no problems with it . I've been splitting metre long billets from 60cm diameter Ash trunks this year. Great bit of kit

Moi aussi.

Can't recommend it enough, not cheap but very well built, I am also doing 1m billets.
