Eat the weeds/foraging

Ground elder needs harvesting early, or it renders you disastrously leaky. Apparently.

Re: nettles. The most disappointing pot herb to forage. A thousand times less rewarding, both spiritually and culinarily, than the equivalent weight of fungi, fruit, or nuts. Nothing but angry spinach.

Not that I’m saying you’re an influencer or anything.

But it reminds me of this daft mare getting all done up in make up, designer wellies etc. carrying a signboard telling us some aspirational crap while her husband takes a photo for the Gram.

Good to see the knife being used. Chimes with my thinking on introducing them, and other tools, as early as possible. (within reason obvs - no chainsaws until double figures!)

Is that one of those Opinels with the rounded tip?

My four year old lad keeps on about wanting an axe for Christmas, I'll hold off for a couple years though and give him a knife first.

Daughter's fifth birthday for that round nosed Opinel, the 4 year old lad there will be getting his own next year.

Nothing wrong with introducing them to blades early on, that's why God gave us so many fingers to practice on.

Reminds me of a story I heard years ago about some guy applying handfuls of nettles to his member, to make it bigger I think. The mind boggles. An urban myth probably, hopefully.
