Looks no worse than some of the Travelodges I have stayed in!

The immigrants are supposed to be escaping persecution, war or death so billeting up on this barge seems like a good alternative to that.

Sure is better than my Grandfather had when he was holed up in a trench in France during WW1!

If I had nothing and were escaping similar, I would gladly accept this as accommodation.

I reckon it’s a pr stunt to get votes along with look we are trying to stop the boats rhetoric, in reality many of those in power probably own the hotels and the barge and are making a killing from the whole thing and don’t want the cash cow to end.

Agreed, 30p Lee now telling people to F off back to France if they don’t like being housed on a barge, this is the deputy chair of the Conservative party, is it really how people at the top of power should behave? This is street talk, not what our politicians should be saying. Sunak put him there to appeal to the working class, he certainly doesn’t speak for me.
