Arb tipper

Hi... I've been processing firewood privately for myself and my friends and family (not a business... But more a hobby/lifestyle choice). I've just been offered a free arb tipper. My questions are... . Will I have to have the 6 Weekly check done if I use it for private use only? And what license category is required to drive it? As it stands I think I'm allowed to drive a 7.5ton with a trailer. I'll attach a pic of my licence.

Thanks if your still reading this... I appreciate any advice you guys can give me.

I think the code 107 limits you to 8.2 ISH tonnes with a trailer on your c1+e.

All depends on what the arb tipper is. If it is a 3,5 tonne vehicle everything is easy. If it is a 7.5 tonne then it will be more complicated. Not sure if being for private use will except you from insoections

I'd check to see how much insurance would be aswell beforehand as it might be commercial policies only, that and road tax.

Even something like a pickup tends to be commercial only, small van might be a better option or a twin axle 750kg trailer ?.

Thanks for that.... I've since found out its an iveco eurocargo ml75e17k. Type N2.. Revenue weight 7500kg...

I have actually got an ifor williams trailer 8x5 which is great... But isn't a tipper sadly. Getting some great advice here so far thanks

Ah OK... This is all new to Me... I'm certainly going to have to have a good look into all of this. Luckily I could park it up on a friend's field where we do all the noisy stuff and store wood ready for cutting and splitting... This is a big learning curve for me.... I didn't realise there was so much red tape...

Hats off to all you guys that have been doing this in order to operate safely and legally.
