Inlay or tesin

So hi guys I am making a sort of 4 poster bed the posts and rails are Monkey Puzzle and the headboard and foot board are African Utile the brown and white contrast real nice but the headboard has some Dorset of beetles damage hence Resin or inlay of Monkey Puzzle what would you do

Its a kind of artistic decision, my thoughts would be black resin will hide and be a little bit of character whereas monkey puzzle inlay needs to be part of a design pattern, much more of a feature. Inlay sounds harder to pull off but could be really nice if it works.

Sorry about the typo dont know where Dorset Beetles came from but at least I got the photos the right way round this time

So I went with the resin and tried to get it to look like a Nebula in space the photo doesn’t do it justice but I am at a show this weekend so will try and take better photos

What's the wood?  The colour is saying walnut but I'm not sure about the grain
