Yes, fitted a new fuel pump tonight and it seems to have solved the issue 😇. Started and stopped it a dozen or so times and so far so good.

Hi Jase, yes did a service on it at the same time so all filters and oil and a soapy wash, it’s been spoiled today 😂

Honestly, it is good for my mental health to know I am not alone.

 You are talking about the high pressure fuel pump not the lift pump and if so how much was the fuel pump?

Also, if you still have the old pump, I suggest cutting it open to look at the filter. Tell us what you see.

Hi, honestly didn’t know there were 2 pumps. It’s the one just above the fuel filter. Cost was £114. Looks like this. And yes I have old one still

Question is, why would this very simple pump be affected by the heat of the engine?

That's the low pressure pump Shaun and not really known for failure.

The high pressure pump is mounted on top of the engine and is generally more prone to failure.
