Had a problem with infeed last week them got it working by wiggling socket on directional valve, thought it was socket so put new one on and now will not infeed even if you switch plugs, but will backfeed so no problem with power supply.

So am I look at replacing directional valve or can I just change the solenoid part that bolts on.

Grab a multi meter and see if you get similar readings on both coils, which I assume are two way being three terminals.

Or just swap wire ends to highlight if it's mechanical or electrical.

Have done that. So know it's electric fault.

Fair enough, you've identified it as the coil.

I presume they're only held in place with the plastic threaded piece on the end, if it was me I would swap them over to ensure its got nothing internally wrong.

Coils are usually easy to get, you might need to get the valve aswell depending on price, then it's upto you if you change all or part.

It's an Atos one, chipper is 2008 model..

Do further tests and it's a cool fault turns out they are not made now.

Woody we get the same spiel from Massey etc when they stop fitting or change suppliers of these things, pretty sure if you can identify the make of solenoid that there will some on a shelf somewhere.

Can't get coil off by undoing plastic cap, no luck even with a good tap from hammer. Can't see why timberwolf agent wants £550 for solenoid and manifold and a hydraulic supplier only £70 for solenoid can I just fit one off the shelf.

Looks them up they are 3 position open port.

They're usually specific to the manufacturer, which won't be timberwolf that's a guarantee.

Have you tried a decent pair of grips just to see if it moves, either way it's getting replaced 🙂.

Probably Italian, have a good look for casting numbers etc on the body of the valve to point you in the right direction.

My bad, you've already said it's an ATOS hydraulic valve.
