Register as tip site for free firewood?

Hello, I would like to know local Arb companies opinion regarding home address being used for free tip site for logs for home stove?

Because I was considering registering our home address, I understand a load can be 5 cubic ft in size which would be fine every week to every month but we don't have the storage area if it were every day.  I don't like wasting anyone's time so I thought I would get professional opinion before I register

5m3 might be closer, just pickup the phone and have a chat to the local tree guys.

 

Even then it won't be usable or burnable without hard work on your part.

I have had two loads delivered at a very useful time. I have not had regular loads. I don't think you will need to worry about getting daily lots to be fair.  A lot of companies already have their sites sorted as to where they drop their logs and chip. However I have a lot of space for wood chip, but as I say, I don't get that many deliveries. That's just me.

So the way I see it working is that the local tree companies are pretty well set up with what they do with their waste - whether it is their own yard, locals, or wherever. You are unlikely to get masses of offers from them unless they are quite local to you, and your house is nearer than their base. Companies from outside the area are more likely to be looking for somewhere to tip rather than drive a load of logs lots of miles back to their base - and of course that is less work,  and you'd get a call if you are between theirs and the job site. Don't think you will be turning them away daily.

 

Remember you are offering them a service and so it has to be worth their while - not many will drive a lot out of their way. However when it works it works well, and build relationships with those that come will lead to more (in fact they might win more work locally knowing they can cut the cost of going to the local tip)

I'm an Arborist, been out the industry last 5 years after having Daughter and currently in process of returning.  I'm not the type to help myself to 'free' wood and found a link to this option, maybe once I'm working again, I'll have access to logs for our stove. 😁👍

Agree.   You'll not get loads very regularly. 

My experience is, a full (ie, somewhat over weight) transit tipper load equates to 2-3ish cube (once processed and stacked) depending on hard vs soft and how absurdly over weight its loaded.

It’s not a long term commitments. you can temporarily hide or permanently delete your listing any time you like if you’re full up
