Can I get my 881 converted to .063 chain?

I've been thinking for a while if I could get my 881 converted from .404 to .063 chain as everyone's probably aware it comes stock as .404 but I much prefer .063 chain.... any guidance would be much appreciated.

I imagine it’s possible to put a 3/8 sprocket on it and change bar and chain. I have used my 3/8 lo profile bar and chain on my 881 with the right sprocket.

.404" chain IS 0.63" already. What do you mean?

I suspect he is wanting to change from .404" to 3/8", both of which are .063"

Sorry yes I ment the narrower chain size from what is on the 881 as stock.... the same size as what comes stock with the 661

So it would appear from reading the thread attached that it doesn't necessarily cut faster just because I put the narrower chain on.

No, but you can share the chains with your existing saws which is a plus.

 

I don’t have an 881, so is the consensus that the bar mount is the same as, say, the 661?
