Basically looking to buy a tipper on a low budget, but im really struggling to find one in any sort of usable condition. So i just thought i would ask here to see if any of you guys were looking to sell one in the near future or if you had any ideas as to where to look apart from the obvious places like ebay and van trader?

My budget is £1500 - £2000. It doesnt need to be winning the prettiest truck award but i just need something thats going to last about a year while i establish myself, hence the low budget.

BTW live near Guildford, Surrey but dont mind putting in the miles for the right vehicle!

cheers

Karl

if i was you mate i would save some more money upto £4000 and you will get a great truck, instead of somthing that will run for a while then need some work doing to it, i got a 53 plate ldv crewcab tipper for £4000' i was like you wanted one for £1500-2000 but relised for that extra 1000-1500 you can get a much much better truck  heres mine

If you are going on soft ground or want to deliver logs in the snow get a 110 tipper. I bought a 1986 110 tipper with 9 months mot 6 months tax for £1000 used it hard now for 7 months not really had to put a spanner to it yet. Expect to spend some money now though for MOT

karl, i dont mean to be a pain, if the tippers for tree works go for it... but if its for general gardening works, why not go for a lwb semi hi top transit? saves unloading tools every night and then loading them back on every morning.. (for security reasons).. also some transits can hold NEARLY as much as a tipper...

just a thought..

best of luck hunting....:001_smile:

Cheers for all the replies!

Log supplier i already have a van which is great for the tools and security as you say, but recently i have been getting a lot of hedge cutting and clearence jobs which is getting to be a pita. So i have decided to get the tipper to use as a second vehicle for the larger jobs.

Mozza that ldv is perfect and its not to far from me, just called him and hes still got it so im going to have a look tomorrow. Never thought of looking on pistonheads always thought it was just cars for boy racers.

Cheers
