timberwolf 35/150 tracked chipper had a fit

Ok. chipper was running then overrevved and shut off.  could not restart it.  loosened injectors and no fuel coming out of them.  electric fuel pump working fine and filter clean good supply to pump.  bloody tracked chippers.  when they stop you cant move the thing.  Any advice appreciated.  its a kubota V1050

You say it overreved can you give more details, was it a runaway engine and did it stop when you turned the key off, or did it keep running?

What's the oil level like is it higher than max..

Had a Jensen shit its hydraulic pump dumping the hydraulic oil into the engine oil, it then pumped it through the breather and into inlet manifold and then the engine runs on its oil rather than diesel and will not switch off with switch. We stopped it by tracking it to slow the engine down till it stalled, but it was close to blowing up.

I take it this will have a electric stop solenoid on it ? check that the wire to the solenoid is in tacked and not broken or check it with volt meter or test screw driver, in fact if you listened to it while someone else turned key you could probably hear it snap open, if not take stop solenoid out remove plastic plunger and spring and it should start but you cant stop it then ?? to stall a chipper is another question,,

Well im told it seamed a bit underpowered. turned it on went to turn it off and the revs stayed at full power which makes no sense.  turned it off and it kept running.  then it stopped. now no fuel from injectors.  I recon the fuel stop solonoid might not be right.  ive no idea though why the revs stayed high when the throttle was reduced unless a diesel keeps running when starved with fuel.

Classic running out of fuel symptoms.

If there is fuel in the tank I'd say it was sucking air from somewhere.

Wot he said - our genny has identical symptoms when running out of fuel.  Iur pavlovian response is now to check that the mag drill isn't hanging off a stanchion somewhere and is in imminent danger of losing its magnetic force and crashing to an early demise - don't ask how we know - before a frantic dash to turn off the genny before we get any more air into the fuel line.

Ok removed fuel stop solonoid. Still did not start. Where solonoid goes did not pop out. Bit of tapping and it came out a bit. Got it running. Black smoke. 
 

could it not be popping out due to low pressure so hence why it’s now running ruff. 
 

by the way no power at stop solonoid. Which makes no sense at all can’t be both at the same time.

Black smoke is lack of air, would check air cleaner. 

But that's not why it is not fuel, could be multiple of things add together.

Would check ignition switch as well.

IIRC when ignition switch is on there is a permanent live to the solenoid which keeps it latched to keep running. When you turn to start there is 2nd live to the solenoid which lifts the solenoid to the run position which is then kept latched by the 1st positive wire, on releasing from start position the 2nd de energising wire stops being powered and the solenoid is kept in run position by 1st live wire. When you stop both wires should not be live.

ok,  ive checked the fuel cut off solenoid and it works.   the engine is fine.  so without the fuel cut off solonoid fitted started the chipper it just revs high.     the lever in the pump does not return to the off position hence why it wont shut off. its like its sucked in.  what I dont understand is why it instantly runs fast.  clearly the pump has taken a turn for the worse.
