Make them make the customer happy on their dime. They’ll not do it again. If they dont like it then time for them to walk, that’s unless you need them more than they need you then you best just suck it up.

You need the the guy to create the work and you need the guy to do the work, to have both is crucial for a business to work. They need each other. If, as he says, they are good lads, then he needs to manage things a little better. Can’t be arsed with “ someone complained!” Must be the grafters fault!!

As I said in the opening post, this isn't the first time this has happened

I agree with your initial assessment not so much the latter (obviously) Again, who needs who  more? This is the decisive question in how a company administers discipline.

Needs? Everyones expendable whether they want to believe it or not. Pain in the backside having to replace staff who are otherwise decent though for sure.

Does that mean you’ve managed your staff wrong on more than one occasion 🤷‍♂️

If you’re the boss then you’re not expendable in your own mind, but your workers are I guess🤔

Go easy with the pressure washer, it may blast the render off giving you a bigger problem!!

A bucket of warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush would be my weapon of choice.

Get your lead fella to accompany you on the apology and clean up, that should make sure your lads are kept in line.

I've heard time and time again over the years workers boasting how the companies will be screwed when they leave. Well guess what, they leave and the companies carry on just fine.

…and so do the workers, it’s not new and it’s not startling news, good workers and good companies do well, but they don’t always stay doing the same thing together. One is as important as the other is all I’m saying.
