What is this saw under the plastic

Wondering if anyone knows what this saw is, its a Stiga SP386, but

for its advertised cc 's it seems to cut like a bigger saw.

The Muffler looks to have the same mounting pattern as a Makita EA4300 / Dolmar 421

but not exact same muffler.

Does anyone know if this is a Makita or Dolmar in disguise, is it a split case or plastic clam.

Here is it being repaired then used,

Would be nice if stiga carried on making the dolmar/makita saws in disguise.

But that stiga spec is only 1.6kw?

Maruyama had some red dolmars but stiga seems less likely as not jp based?

If it is only 1.6kw then it sure cuts above its size, near the end of the video he cross cuts with it,

and it held up very well.

Stiga was a Swedish firm, probably still is but apparently the saws are made in Italy so most likely nothing to do with Dolmar or Makita.

If that is the parts diagram for the Stiga 386 then it looks a lot like the Makita engine.

But then it also looks like them green Active saws made in Italy, too well made to be

an efco or emack or oleo mac

Its a generic chinese saw made to stiga spec. The recoil handle is a giveaway to start with, and then it goes on from there. The saw comes supplied with a file, which is always a dead giveaway its chinese sourced to those in the know. The crankcase alloy casting is most definitely chinese.

Just looks like a sharp saw to me in green oak, it’s not tearing through… even a plastic clam engined saw will cut well with a decent chain on.

It is missing the generic alloy balcony at the back where the filter sits on

every china saw I have seen, they try and disguise it with paint usually or plastic

comes down, its not on that saw.

In any event, from what I can see, every year the model changes, so buying the same

model No is no guarantee you wouldn't get a clam shell instead.
