We are on a meter Andy, old farm supply.

Fair enough. :) I know farms and large users are metered but did not know homeowners where. I'm lucky in that Im not metered nor do I pay for water on my Council Tax as Ive fallen through the cracks. Maybe its to do with my house being an old farm house?

When we moved here in 2001 it was cheaper to stay on meter than pay via council tax, now its reversed but cant be arsed changing it around.

Do you guys not pay water rates up there then. I pay £65 a month for that on top of 2k council tax.

Most folk have water rates added onto their Council Tax but its not much if I remember correctly. Im band E and £1600 a year. I dont know how much the standing charge for water is as im not on it. But a quick google search says its £270 a year.

Yes, water and sewerage gets paid for - just paid direct to the council and not the water company - and I guess the council passes on the charge (but.... I bet they deduct a handling charge, there is never a payment that the SNP doesn't want a cut from)
