From what I got told from one of the high ups at Husqvarna at the APF. The batteries contain a chip, and that's what they are waiting for. When the Stihl batteries came we got our pre season order in one go. We order these in November the previous year. Didn't get them till late September. Needless to say all the larger one's went within two weeks. I've got a feeling it will be the same when the husqvarna one come. Although we'll probably be getting 2 years of pre season order in one go

That sounds about right. I was talking to a rep from a different supplier who said they had to source chips for their head torches which was not only difficult to do but the price had quadrupled. So 2 dollars instead of 50c for a single chip, its no wonder the price of everything is changing every couple of months.
