Hum / vibration over winter... at wits end

Think that might need a little context, surely the noise would be for on the farm it's being built upon.

 

Not several miles down the road?.

As you'd be buggered in any urban place near a motorway or road.

Here (in rural France) it’s so quiet at night I had the same issue.

Could hear roaring/pumping noise.

Took me a while to figure it out.
