Conifer Hedge from Hell – Update.

Some of you may remember that just before Christmas we were on this job. I’d originally quoted for it well over 12 months ago and seriously under priced it and to be honest forgotten all about it.

Then highways decided they wanted it completed, fair enough I thought. It was one of those jobs you had to just grit your teeth and get done. When we finished we literally opened a bottle, we were so relieved!

Big old job!!! Just the shear volume of conifer when its on the ground is just so depressing isn't it. End jobs looks cracking tho mate

We happen to drive past 6 weeks later and were greeted with this!

Every single tree has been felled by contractors, gutted!

I can sympathise. Recently we topped a 100ft long, 60ft high, multi stemmed beast and had to drag it 100ft to be chipped. We predicted around 8-10 ton was chipped!

Top respect John . Conifers are hell but to alot of us bread and butter work Best to have many hands on conny work .

We didn’t even know they were being felled. There’s a new doctors surgery going to be built on the site and the hedge was to remain at least until building was completed. Note the lack of PPE worn by the chainsaw user. Apparently these trees were falling down in any given direction last week (one car nearly got hit), no chapter 8 and no PPE.

 

Getting the job as compensation for all that wasted time would have been good, not even being asked was worse and then to have monkeys turn-up and nearly kill themselves and a member of the public is a travesty! (sour grapes)
