Sell it after you’ve bought it off them obviously.

But yes, I’d imagine there is also a good chance the claim is being investigated…

Fine if they did, just wanted someone to communicate something as it's been silent

Usually with insurance companies, they don't do much until you chase them. Make a nuisance of yourself if you want any progress.

Will do, appreciate the advice!

I'd fallen out with the yard owner over all of this so I now effectively have the recovered chipper at home which makes me nervous

You have a duty if care to the insurance company to take reasonable steps to look after it. Beyond that, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you.

Insurance company paid out in less than 2 weeks😳, they should be recommended- who were they, are they one of the main ones?

They are one of the highest recommended insurers in the trade.

It's been shocking and kind of disheartening how disinterested the police were and how the insures didn't really ask for more than a crime number, guess it's such a regular occurrence...

Yeah the old bill are just useless unless its sending out speeding fines our workshop was broke into we had time ,description of the van and that was quite unusual and still all we got was sorry we dont attend comercial break ins any more ,and as for the insurance company I would ring them and ask if they want to sell it to you as the storage and security charges are starting to get quite high and you are concerned that it may get stolen again if they sell it to you cheap then I am sure somebody on hear would have a deal with you or they come and get it either way you get it gone

It’s possible the thieves planned on returning to collect it .sometimes they wait to see if machinery or vehicles are being tracked before they take the stuff .
