Does this saw seem genuine or fake

What makes you think it might be a Jeckle?

 

Have you seen or used a 500i before?

Looks ok to me. All the giveaways like torx head markings bar nut markings..the little things that fakers skip on....all seem fine.

On the otherhand.....😁Yeah....its a fake. I'"ll give you 50 quid to take it off your hands mate.

I stand to be corrected as I'm probably wrong but I don't know of any 500i fakes yet....

I saw a saw for sale on facebook, silly cheap.. I messaged and asked why so cheap. They said it was a loss leader to promote their business. I asked could i buy it and they said Yes!! and helpfully told me where to send the money and that as soon as they got it they would send the saw round...

 

Great i said, do you want my address??? yes they said, so i sent them the address of the local police headquarters..

 

Never heard from them again, funny that..

No, what they had done, was to get pictures from someone's genuine website and used them in their advert, The saw was genuine as you say, the advert was not though..

 

Never knew there were fake saws about though?? Moral; Buy from a proper dealer like yourself..

Been loads of adds like that on FB this last couple of years, and given the people who have stoves fitted this last year and want a saw but dont have a clue what they are looking at, many will of sent money and recieved FA, one that caught my eye one night was a new 261 for £149,99 advertised in Bradistan ?? Karcher power washers and Dewalt battery tools has been another one, all scams but a very easy way to make money,
