Could just be a faulty bearing,sprocket etc that gave up a bit early.

 

I always buy stihl bars rather than oregon since I could never be bothered to grease the oregon ones.

 

Usually find the bar is worn to death before the nose starts to splay a bit, although did have a 25" one go on a stihl but it had been pinched fairly badly not long before it split.

Dunno why none of the Stihl bars have a grease hole, but the only bars I've had split open have been Stihl.

 

ive been told that stihl bars have a sealed bearing so there is no opportunity for dirt to get into the bearing, meaning there is no reason to grease, but husky bars have a different one so they need greasing.
