Are you sure the oil level switch is ok ?.

As that would ground the spark plugs.

 

What model honda or Briggs engine ?

As above , which engine is fitted ?

Is there a bonnet switch fitted ? If so , a faulty switch will also kill the spark.

It’s a Honda engine. Haven’t checked them as yet will take a look tomorrow got a friend coming over Saturday morning to check over everything see if he can source the problem. Last resort is take it to a dealer and take out a 2nd mortgage on having it repaired.

Disconnect the oil sensor and see if it sparks.

 

The engine is just the power source, all the complicated stuff like the feed controls and safety stuff controls the hydraulics feed.

 

Think of it as a glorified lawnmower and just follow the wiring.

First point Gareth made - fuel to the carb.

 

My Honda engine is not good at sucking fuel up an empty pipe, it needs the pipe to stay full of petrol. On my chipper over a few weeks the pipe drains down and then it won't run at all until I get a little funnel and fill the pipe and inline filter with petrol.

 

Sounds like you might have similar if you didn't use it for 6 weeks.

As Jase said start with a spark! Remove cleaning refit earth strap for one, check bonnet micro switch. Once you have a spark, then check for fuel.....

And remember if there is a bonnet switch fitted , you won't get a spark if you're cranking it over with the bonnet open.....
