If you can find a simple rustic design you like you may get something for the sort of money you are talking about.

You should be able to get two through and through Larch or Douglas fir slabs for about £50 each, so then you have to find a chippy with time on their hands.

👍A bit more hopeful then. Guessing sweet chestnut would be pricier?

That's smart. Wouldn't even need to be so highly finished, I'd be happy with a rougher look.

That is very nice and might be perfect in this instance.

Yes chestnut would cost more.  Larch you could simply use unseasoned, but chestnut is so wet you may want to buy dried.  Same size slabs would cost you maybe £80 each.

Larch or cedar or Douglas fir would have a very long life if you look after it a bit.

I can knock you up a bench but would much rather make you something truly stunning that will be a feature you are proud of but if you just want some 3x3 bolted together for legs and a couple of slabs screwed on top give me a shout I do have some metal bench ends in the shop I could put some Cedar or Oak slats on one a pair of them if you want or for strong money you can have one of our real big rustic benches made with joints and pegs and all out of big chunky Cedar I have some Holly that would make a nice simple back less bench give me a call 07449736569
