Chain Sharpening Issue with Husqvarna T540 MkII TopHandle

This does all sound odd, for what it is worth, I sharpen Stihl .325 semi and full chisel with the 2 in 1 Stihl tool and am always amazed how well they turn out. I've really abused them sometimes doing low stumps and chicken wire!! They come back close to new. 

Do you have a dodgy batch of chain/ soft metal not keeping an edge?

Try a different brand chain or as mentioned before swap set up?

- I have also tried a stihl 2in1 Sharpener and only got an ok sharpen, but it was nothing like when it was a fresh chain.

- I have also tried an oregon sharpening kit, and that was no different.

I seem to be able to sharpen all my other chainsaw chains without a problem. But I can't get a decent sharpen on the .325 micro simichisel chain, even when I am measuring every tooth with vernier calipers to ensure that they are all perfectly sized.

I was therefore wondering how other T540 MkII users are getting on with sharpening their chains and what you are using.

Or is there any options for changing the chain and sprockets to a different chain size?

I recently got this saw and size chain as well, and find it's fine till I get about 3/4 of the way through the chain and then have to change the chain as it won't even cut. Use a standard 5/32 file, without a file guide, and keep an eye on depth gauges

fr jones are saying to use a 3.2 1/8 file just to comfuse more .

I've recently (last two months) purchased exact same saw - use the husky kit and it takes only a few strokes and its back to out of the box sharpness, possibly got a dud chain ? hope this helps somewhat

I have used the correct Husqvarna combi gauge on my own T540i with no real issue, my biggest gripe is you cannot buy a reel of this chain, or any preset tie straps, it is an Oregon chain badge engineered.

I have kindly been supplied a Panther Chain .325 mini, from Chainsawbars.co.uk to see how I get on with that instead of the Husky chain... So I will see how I get on with that.

Have you an update on the panther chain Jamie? Do you find it sharpens better than the Husqvarna?

It is not bad chain and sharpen quite well.
