Grinder wheel for stump grinder teeth on site

I use one on my little hyundai,  and doing it little and often has really made stump grinding easier/less stressful 👍

I find them useless, hardly affect the teeth at all, gave up on them.

Yes they are good for a quick tickle... for anything serious use a green wheel on the bench grinder...

Green wheels are OK, I just hate the toxic mess everywhere.

 

I was Chez Cropper recently and he showed me a grinding wheel that’s a lot better and less messy.

When I had access to the discarded discs from a tiling contractor I found they were okay to cut on the narrow side band even after the diamonds had worn off the cutting edge, now I use a TCT saw sharpening wheel which costs about £10 even though it is rated at only 5500rpm. Yes it is slow but faster than taking the 9 teeth out and using the bench grinder, of course my time is less valuable than that of someone in full time work.

I got used to just using them till they went off, then putting new cheap Chinese ones on I got from the Rayco supplier in Dorset.

 

Not as easy now with Brexit and parcels and all that.

I use a spare tooth pocket to hold the tooth steady against the wheel. A couple of minutes grinding to get a decent cutting edge. Had it about 4 years, use it a lot. Maybe get 4 sharpens per tooth if they're not too hammered.
