Currently own a predator / laski 360sw. I use it mostly on small / the odd bigger stump. I sub out the larger stumps / those on slopes / tougher terrain... there is coming in more and more quotes for those kind of stumps so now considering getting a bigger / self propelled machine. Nothing massive, would like to keep the weight down to around 700kg. Was looking at bandit sg-40 but hear mixed feelings about their engines. Any models out there that stand out above the rest??

I love my SG40 and I like the engine asi had one in my HB20 and it never missed a beat in 7 Years. The SG 40 with the razor wheel is fantastic. I did not like the Briggs Vanguard I had on my Jo Beau....

Don’t discount the bigger predators they do need careful maintenance but are a extremely capable machine.

I like the predator 38. Small enough to go through a gateway but packs a punch on the grinding. I think the newer ones have a dozer blade which is so useful. Keep it greased well and the teeth sharp and it punches above its weight. Make sure you keep a few spare fuel filters and the stop button as well as a blade switch and it's fine.

Getting a bit old now but I always rated the Vermeer 252 if you can find one with low hours for a good price it would be worth a shot.

But my Rayco 1635 is a very reliable powerful machine, the 25 hp one I had before was excellent also.

 

Dont know how they compare price wise to the European machines.
