Let’s be honest now, there have been some unexpected benefits from all this shenanigans.

I will now list some incidental arisings that I think would generally be considered as positive.

1: Artisans or tradesmen like us have never been so busy.

2: Dogs have spent more days with their WFH owners.

3: Businesses have come to terms with their people hybrid working or WFH full time, with no loss of productivity.

4: No more social kissing (especially welcome if you live in France)

5: Pointless air travel has reduced (look to the skies)

6: Many people have re-examined their lives and have changed accordingly to more fulfilling careers.

You can of course flood this nascent thread with foam flecked fury if you like but any other unexpected welcome side effects anyone has noticed?

No foam flecked fury but.. Peeps near me got a Clumber Spaniel pup just before lockdown , Now they can not leave the house because it has  "separation issues " . Barks all the time they are at work . Have to pay a dog sitter now .

Hey, the dog sitter has work! Another tick in the plus column.

See . Its all down to perspective . 👍 The tennis ball bouncing on the train . Is it going up and down or is it going along as it bounces ?

Four fairly major domestic projects completed during lockdowns 1 & 2... Would have never got around to them otherwise, realistically. And completed well, and properly, as time pressure wasn't an issue.

Loads of people waking up to "stuff", joining the tinfoil side = new friends.

Learning who people really are - invaluable, regardless of where one stands on the issues.

Acellorated spiritual maturation. I've become much more understanding of other's weakness. I'm gentler with others, in my thoughts (was never outright mean to people in day to day life, but ones personal thoughts are a different matter).

By the way Mick - off topic - was listening to August Hunicke interviewing Gerald Bereneck this morning and he was reading some questions from viewers - your name and "France" was mentioned! ...Interview was a few years ago.

Yeah, I don’t know how to put this, but I’m kind of a big deal in the US.

I have many leather bound books and my house smells of rich mahognany.

All fair points.

I'm not convinced on point 3, no loss of productivity with WFH, I'll direct you to the DVLA thread as evidence.

Personally, I quite liked the lock down thing, with hardly anyone out and about the world was a far more pleasant place to be.
