Yep I get the buried in the ground bit and also the rear pull, both great options.

Also though can I suggest various options like 2:1 or greater? I haven't actually done this with the current winch, haven't needed to do so but of course its easy to increase the pull when winching relative to the rope/method used etc.

The one I had on demo from avant had no blade to drop into the ground just a guard to catch broken ropes think this is a much better idea50EA0E39-16C6-4525-8276-F740D15F8123.thumb.png.6e91b0d97f63cb41beacf4f973e61fd2.png

Just done some googling, I see your point.

I thought it would be like a forestry winch you stuff in the ground.

I haven't been stuck (yet with the winch fitted). I do know someone who has a ground spike fitted to their winch (good idea on some types of ground) but I think  it limits the overall use on solid ground as the position of the pull has to be as low as possible according at least to the user guide.

You already have some impressive pulling power just with the machine.

Not sure if a winch has more pull.

I think the added bonus of the winch is that you are static when pulling, no issues reversing when pulling like lack of space or articulation etc? Also as I mentioned before easy to add greater pull vis different rope set up systems.

Understood, but it’s a lot of moolah for a bit of pull.
