John, I'm pretty good at making sure something is properly supported before going underneath it, but I know what you mean about always being the odd time you do.  I'll try and be better all the time.

One thing about halfords, is thast everything they sell is good quality, so i do not think you will go far wrong with a halfords one..

I managed to get a good price on a Sealey 3000CXD a few years ago. Very happy with it. List price now over £200, I got mine just over £100 delivered on Ebay. Lifts high enough to work on my Shogun, and low profile enough to get under my Caddy.

 

Miles better than the cheapies I'd had before.
