@Hodge We use them already to put an edge back on the teeth when its on the grinder but found it quite slow to do on teeth that are really blunt.

 

Plus I have around 100 to do.

Ahh ok. I have the razor teeth on my grinder and just sharpen them myself. When I had green teeth I just chucked em in a pot and did them on wet days....saves paying someone. Dean at Global did get a load sharpened for me at once..

Kennedy Grinding in Craven Arms did some for us years ago when we had a couple of Preds, were fine for the back teeth, wouldn't get the edge for the leaders though

If they’re proper blunt it’s nigh on impossible to get a decent edge on them again. Put them in the scrap pile and price new ones into the jobs. Life’s too short to be messing about when they’re bad - I do sharpen if they’ve just lost their edge a bit

Fair enough, I feared it might be. 

 

Just a shame as there's a lot of meat left on them

Price them into the job. 
 

A quick tickle on site to get done is fine but proper sharpening just isn’t viable on a time(cost) vrs cost of a new tooth.

 

grinding is so much better knowing the customer is paying for a full set of teeth regardless of if you need them. Put £30 on every job and keep smiling. 
 

also I think keeping good sharp teeth gives the machine less stress and therefore bearings etc last longer (paying for a big part of the teeth in the bigger picture)
