Mini crane

We had considered doing it that way ourselves, trouble was it tied up a decent truck that couldn't be used for much else and the extra reach needed to lift any decent weight at the end of the trailer meant a much bigger crane so less payload.
For us it works well as we only need to get just over 2000kg on the trailer, but can also put 1400kg on the truck if need be  giving us a combined carrying capacity of just under 3500kg (7000kg GTW).

I was really only pointing out the best way to max out on payload, not a what's best for any particular setup comment. A friend of mine had an IW trailer fitted with a crane, they ballasted the rear of the trailer to bring the nose weight in line, the ballast is taking away payload. That said he found it really useful.

For domestic arb a mini loader like a Sherpa or Cast will take nearly all the backahe out of the job, and takes up minimal space and payload for what it can do for you. It can even fetch the logs out of the back garden too! 🤣

I really can't see the point in these mini cranes except for specialist jobs like gravestone or oil tank installations.

Surprisingly the crane trailer only weighs 250kg more than my 12x6 ifor tipper

They look really good but at the cost of a trailer as well and that they say not to use it on the road seems like something mounted on a 3.5t truck then use the trailer as the load carrier would be better and prob not much price difference.

I have one on my truck [bought it Scotland and it came with the crane out the factory ie not retro fitted]. It's been brilliant - not sure of what weight I can carry but everything on the truck is aluminum and so pretty light.

Don't use it much these days but still handy to have.
