have you taken into account the repair bills and the cost of parts compaired to a standard lorry i think the operators licence and the upkeep of a truck could work out cheaper than the buying and running of a mog.

Thinks its a boys toy image with a lot of people.

Would a transit not hold more wieght wise than a landrover i thought landrovers were only able to carry 1 ton and tow 3.5 ton?

I have uprated my landrovers suspension and anti roll bars so they will carry

3+tonn and not sit on the bump stops.

I need more capacity!!!

Ive seen engins and gear boxes go,

Hence the reason why looking at an old dog and re-

building.

Just to replace the engine with a merc 2 year guarantee + labour im looking at 15K that does include clutch plate though.

no MOT, 1/2 priced fuel and really cheap tractor insurance!

How do you get to use 1/2 price fuel?

The cost of an MOT is only £60 ish on a truck anyway, its keeping things on the road and safe that cost.

i find when you put something new in something old, the other stuff falls apart quicker, as it has all got old gracefully, so is used to the power, i remember putting in a new compressor in my mog, and i ended up blowing hoses and valves, it really all needed upgrading, so i ended up doing it anyway lol. I would love another mog, but i know what i want but i would be either spending 5k for a toy to play in the yard and up the woods or 40k on something nice:001_smile:
