This has really riled me!

Made a planning ap for some work ,my company name is shown as the agent on the application...client has recieved a letter from another company in newmarket offering there services for the above job...now they must of seen my name as the agent and that its a tree company..

I know this happens but i think if the agent is a tree company then its taking the p!s

not happy i would not dream of doing this to some one else there is enough work for every one if you have to steal other peoples you should maybe look at why you dont have any your self and think about a career change.

That is really low. There's a lot of it about at the moment, I just lost a £2.5k job that we were supposed to start next week.

I had always shied away from asking people to sign orders, however I am going to put a canncellation clause in my t's and c's and make all jobs over £1500 sign something.

sorry to hear about the job mate..did you have to put in a planning ap for that one?? its pretty low,but i think this will be the year that sorts the men from the boys hope fully this sort of thing wont be around when they disapear and i believe in karma!

I expect more of it. Lots more.

Its low, Very low in this case when is obvious the person making the ap is going to do the work, but be honest if it was you that was going to the wall, was loosing your house, could not feed, clothe your kids ect would you not be proactive in trying to find work?

For builders its a fairly standard way of gaining work. Read papers & contact everyone that gains planning permission. But in that game most people doing the PP ap wont be doing the building work as well.

I have lost work this way Matty, like others.

Nice to hear your customer will stay loyal to you though.

Have you considered giving the "other" tree firm a ring?

ive just had this

customer went with a lower quote (£75) from a landscape gardener after i put in app

couldnt drop price as already as low as poss and the principals of using a local grass cutter to do a profesional job. am going to invoice for tpo whch was granted, normaly charge £99

customers going to be pissed

people should stick to there profesions...

ps i would never tell you i could fix your car or service your boiler or re tile your roof..

but to many do.
