Clearly Ash, but its leaves looks quite different to most of the others around here, darker, curled, feel glossier and thicker. Assumed most of the local trees are Fraxinus excelsior, but is this something else or do they have quite a bit of variation? Thank you

Could it be a Caucasian Wing Nut ?

Thank you. There's a tree close by I had pegged as Narrow Leaved Ash (photo attached). Its leaves are much narrower and decidedly spaced out. The new tree looks nothing like this.

Could it be excess nitrogen?

leaves look very nitrogeny - (if that’s a phrase). Possibly from fertiliser runoff / muck heap / sewage treatment works?

Just plain ash. Maybe people are confused when they see a healthy ash, it's so rare now. This is what ash trees used to look like in a slightly alkali soil.
