I’ve got the woodland trust app, just wondered if there was anything better. This sort of thing moves on quicker than I keep up with.

ID threads used to be fun didn’t they?

These days with the plant ID apps on the phone (my nephew showed me his and I was astonished at the accuracy) I wonder why anyone bothers to ask.

My sis goes on and on about Google Lens, so I tried it on a common tree. It got the ID wrong, and suggested 6 alternatives, all of which were wrong.

Lens is good for plants I've found as long as you're prepared to say 'that's not it'; indeed it's not 100% right but it's a big help

We were just out walking the dog and my wife has Plant Net on her phone.

Correctly identified Verbascum, Hibiscus and Milkweed. Have to say I was very impressed.
