You’re sort of meant to replace the bolts regularly anyway.

I changed the blades hundreds of times on my TW150 never checked the torque.

Cleaned the threads, a bit of copper slip, tight, then a bit tighter, tight enough.

To be honest, i do not trust torque wrenches anyway. There is too much variation depending on how lubricated or not the threads are.. I just wanted to do it right..

If you google how tight am M8 bolt is supposed to be, the figure timberwolf give is far too high anyway if the bolt is lubricated.. I have already emailed them and i will tell you what they say..

What did you google, a M8 8.8 bolt or a 10.9 one as different torque figures for each.

I tested the torque wrench and;

22 ft/lbs is really 20.333

30 Nm is really 28

35Nm is really 32

So, it under reads by about 7% which is a bit strange as they are supposed to read within 3%..

Tester might be wrong though??

john..

Ah, lubrication can give you a false reading apparently.

Its important to make sure the faces of the blade and the surface it lays on are clean and the threads are in good condition.

I wouldn’t lose any sleep over torquing tbh.

Manufacturer spec should give torque and lube condition
