Do you know, I was thinking of doing it the other way round.

 

Get a nice job, regular pay, holday pay and sick pay plus pension.

 

Then do tree work part time with no overheads :001_rolleyes:

 

Sounds like a plan:thumbup1:

 

 

If your seen the state of tree surgeons trucks you could well probably get some work in exchange for your dent mastering skills:thumbup:

 

If I was you I would look at going part time on the panel beating to fund you through training and get kitted up. Dunno about in your area but work here has been really really slow for the last 18 months.

 

In other words dont quite your day job just yet IMO.

haha cheers guys i'll get on the hunt, whats the best thing for me to read/learn over the nxt couple of months before i can get fully into it?

 

Don't spend too much money on books, spend a good few hours reading back threads on this forum. What you will find is real world tree surgery as apposed to idealised money no object projects.

 

I would however recommend a tree id book (e.g. Collins Tree Guide) and 'the tree climbers companion' which is full of knots and climbing methods.
