  3. same as ictrees used garden hire spares on fleabay a few times only for piston rings though, very helpfull & goods are delivered in days i need a pot meself so let us know how you get on with the after market set thanks
  4. i gotta say i was thinking what tommer9 said,i would have thought someone using a ms200 or whatever really should have basic knowledge of chainsaw maintenance (as a chainsaw is one of the most dangerous tools you could use)a saw running on is a basic thing to happen,i could understand if it was running rough or piston was down etc sorry to sound harsh m8 but using a saw you need to know basic stuff all the best
  5. hi does anyone know of a good supplier of ash, beech, birch etc that has some ready to move, everyone local to me at the moment has none (or its going to the sawmills),i can get mixed woods soft hard etc but would perfer a nice load of the above need 26tonne a.s.a.p as im running out of firewood, will pay extra transport fees etc not a problem thanks guys hope you can help..
  6. if its only for a couple of jobs buy one of them 52cc saws on ebay from germany cost you about 80 quid,if it just lasts long enough for you to get your first jobs done & maybe make you enough to buy a better saw (i wouldnt go out of my way to buy one of these saws, but it might just tie you over till your on your feet as they say).what ever you decide best of luck
  7. has it got an adjustable pump? if so the feed might be to high
  8. have you tryed fully comp any driver over 25 etc, gender doesnt come into then & fully comp is cheaper than 3rd party on older vehicles now (dont know why) try supermarket.com think thats the one gives you loads of quotes at once online.
  9. hi i know nothing about chippers but is it diesel? the older towable compressors would act similiar if the diesel pump had vibrated loose, just check the pumps tight 2 minute job even if its not the cause good luck
  10. just take as many courses as you can on your resettlement & your be fine as you've said your not scared of graft & willing to start at the bottom & i think most good companies would take on a ex soldier mature, disiplined & willing to graft what more could they ask for:thumbup: respect i wish you well in your new career:thumbup:
  11. cheap as chips,at 500 good job i aint got 500 quid spare or i'd have another saw sat in the shed:lol:
  12. sorry to hear about your landy. i dont think any pro has tryed to steal it not by the door,my m8s was opened & re-chipped to there key on the drive (with only damaged door lock)thats pro, probably local thieves still who ever done wants locking up,idiots dont realise you lose money because of there mindless actions, hope you havent lost to much work because of these fools...
  13. one of china's finest by the looks:lol: i'd buy a branded saw least you know its built to last & most importantly safe & you can get parts. a chinese strimmer or hedge cutter is not so much of a risk as using a cheap chainsaw whatever you decide i hope it works out all the best.....
  14. if you can get at these bolts knock them loose with a screw driver or chisel to the left,anti-clockwise usually works if you can heat them first with gas or arc welder (put a piece of 3mm etc on bolt & arc weld the 3mm piece to warm bolt underneath) then knock it round were theres a will theres away every nut, bolt etc will come out even with limited tools it just takes time good luck
  15. dont know if anyone needs one but i got some 53cm approx 20 inch stihl guide bar covers today for my saws for 2.99 each from charlies stores in newtown, powys.they are online if anyones intersted cheapest i seen if its of any use to you.
  16. some alarms have a sensitive screw with you can turn up or down to get the setting you require,it used to be on the siren but not 100% on newer alarms
  17. fatboy read it again A TOKEN OF 50 POUND LIKE GOODWILL ETC ie because sawdust HAD QUOTED FOR THE JOB & is selling the 6 tonnes of ash as firewood
  18. it was free wood genset saw dust said he quoted for the job i take that means cut & remove & he knocked fifty quid off because he was going to log the wood so unless i read it wrong he got paid to cut it down & has 6 tonne to sell (600 quids worth of wood) good job i'd say
  19. sorry to hear about your breakin trouble is with these scumbags is that they'd sell 3000 grands worth of gear for a 100 quid bit of beer or drug money,i always say i'd rather give then the 100 quid to leave me gear alone (i know thats not realistic) its not just your tools you've lost its your work, insurance companies are not the fastest of payers all the best
  20. i'd say it did pay:thumbup: you know the old saying you win sum you lose sum think you won with the ash
  21. the carb settings are: high 1 turn low 1 & 1/4 just because its a new carb it does not mean it is set up to run sorry if you already knew this if not try it good luck
  22. impulse line is the pipe from carb going into crankcasing ie.you got one pipe from tank to carb & one from carb to crank, good luck
  23. has it run since you put piston & rings in etc or only fired though dropping petrol down carb??did you open the crank casing?i:e new gasket etc if it has, same as above check fuel filter & lines to carb if clear check you refitted carb correctly ie gaskets are sat right etc
  24. hi treedave you can get more power out of some husqvarnas, look at the air filter housing is it larger than the carb i:e it restricts airflow, you can file out etc there is also a mod you can do on the exhaust,i will try & see if i can find the details, but i suspect as the 357xp is a high revving engine any mods will just shorten the life of engine..
